How Our 50-Ton Air-Cooled Chillers Work
Air-cooled chillers absorb heat from process water and transfer it into the environment. The process begins when refrigerant enters the evaporator and changes into gas after heating. The gaseous refrigerant then travels to the compressor, where its pressure increases.
From there, the high-pressure refrigerant moves to the condenser. Fans push the warm air through the condenser to absorb the heat and release it into the environment. After the heat escapes, the pressure of the refrigerant lowers and begins a new cycle.
Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers function similarly, with the primary difference between the two is the substance used to accomplish chilling.
Benefits of Using Air-Cooled Chillers
Among the primary benefits of renting an air-cooled chiller over a water-cooled unit or other cooling options are:
Easy installation: Air-cooled chillers require no cooling tower to operate, meaning that the system setup is much quicker than water-cooled units.
Lower maintenance: Because air-cooled chillers have fewer operational components, their maintenance requirements are much lower.
Sustainable: The heat released from air-cooled systems is recyclable, making them ideal for outdoor equipment-cooling operations.
No water source needed: Air-cooled units do not depend on water to operate, so they're excellent in locations with limited water supply.
