Condenser Cooling
Condensers in manufacturing facilities use volatile chemicals. Proper cooling for condensers is vital to convert vapors to liquids; this prevents vapors from escaping. In the worst case, the vapors can be dangerous, so cooling system failure could create serious safety hazards and put the plant at risk for EPA fines.
During the summer months, the existing cooling equipment is stressed and may not keep up with demand, requiring cutbacks in production. Rental chillers can provide both backup and supplemental cooling capacity. The drawing below shows one possible installation.
Rental equipment typically used for condenser cooling applications includes the following:
Chiller modules ranging from 25 to 525 tons
Low-temperature chiller modules
Pump modules, cooling towers, or heat exchanger modules
Piping and fittings
Engineering and supervision services
Installation and maintenance services
On-site operation and training
Typical Applications:
Chemical plants
Pharmaceutical plants
Oil refineries
Petrochemical Plants
Fuel storage farms
Discovery Questions:
Do you use condensers in your process? (Air-or water-cooled?)
Do you use cooling tower water, chilled water, or brine in your condensers?
Do you experience cooling problems during the summer months?
Would your plant be fined if vapors from your reaction process were vented to the outside air?
Configuration and Installation Issues
Check the temperature and pressure ratings of the condensers and other equipment. Be sure the chiller modules are compatible.
Be aware of the are electrical classifications.
